Antarctica is a big continent, so the research stations are distributed on rock or ice. Antarctica became popular and interesting since the first explorers visited it. Climate change is now accruing in Antarctica so recently scientists are studying this problem especially. They focus mainly on the interesting wildlife. Apart from climate change, they also study geology,wildlife and weather.

Since winter is dark it's the best time to study astronomy. The scientists have to stay in the research station to be able to research about these things, because then they have all the equipment they need at all times. Their scientific research helps us understand global environmental issues.
